New mast step

packing up to go

floor painted and the footstraps in

20/06/03 On the water at last at Ullswater (thanks to the encouragement from the the 2 other albacore owners who turned up at the campsite at the weekend.) Lots of splices and new holes/ fixings later

nearly a bit closer in at last
father in law gets to drive first?
main going up and we're off
not bad just coming back in Bugger Split it right down the middle on a rock fixed
epoxyed and plated
got get rid of the antifouling soon

back where she belongs; balanced lovely and quite fast (well to me anyway) the only leak was around the centreboard bolt!!!!!

26/06/03
unfortunately the wind got up for the rest of the weekend and our baby sitters had to go home so I only got an hour or so on the water before we broke the CB but it was great fun.

By the way does anyone have a centreboard I could borrow?

Well thanks to everyone who have helped I'll probably not post much new stuff until next year when
the plan now includes
replacing the whole of the decking,
reshaping the transom,
stripping the old paint and checking the external hull for damage bad repairs,
repainting" I think a nice metallic purple! " the debate is why use very expensive yacht paint on a dinghy when easy to use and spray quality car paint is available?",
filling the side tanks with PU foam to stiffen them?,
stiffening the floor area " any ideas? favourite so far is to vacuum bag a thin layer of foam and epoxy to the floor,
more controls upgraded,
painting the boom " gold yuk ",

sourcing secondhand foils and newer sails.
Getting measured and going racing!!!!!! (if I can afford the sailing club fees ,wow )
